The french producer and phtograph Chris Marker passed away the 29th July 2012 at age 91.
He used to be named as « the most famous of unknown filmmakers » while he prefers to let his static shots speak in his place.
The producer of La Jetée ( 1962 ) differed from the others by his particular dark universe often enlightened by bright, poetic, and hopeful characters. Each shot were composed as a picture ; with accuracy and remarkable aesthetics. The emotional strength of post-apocalyptic distress sent this film out to the Pantheon of French cinema at the same time as its director.
Chris Marker’s films are immortal; Jean Baptiste Laubier (Para One) has also paid tribute to La Jetée during his melancholic trip in the picturesque universe of It Was On Earth That I Knew Joy (2009) producted by Sixpack France.
Chris Marker, thank you for being alive
